BRIT FLOYD – hailed as the “world’s premiere Pink Floyd experience” by none other than Rolling Stone – is rocking on with their Wish You Were Here 50 Tour, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of PINK FLOYD’s iconic album. And, fun fact, did you know the album is considered one of the greatest of all time? To keep things fresh, they’re bringing in some big-name guests, new collabs, and a series of shows with music legend ALAN PARSONS. Here’s the latest scoop:
● Hammond organist/keyboardist Harry Waters (yeah, that’s ROGER WATERS’ son) is wrapping up his 20-show stint on May 3 in Atlantic City. He’s been jamming with BRIT FLOYD for a few years now.
● MACHAN TAYLOR, a PINK FLOYD backing vocalist, is joining BRIT FLOYD for three upcoming shows: May 9 at Giant Arena in Hershey, PA; May 10 at Warner Theatre in Washington, DC (sold out, sorry!); and May 11 at the Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC), Durham, NC. She’s got some serious cred, having performed 198 shows as a backing vocalist for PINK FLOYD on their Momentary Lapse of Reason tour.
● The BRIT FLOYD/ALAN PARSONS double-bill extravaganza is coming to iconic venues in California and Nevada, including a stop at the legendary Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. They’ll be joined by special guests PJ OLSSON (ALAN PARSONS LIVE PROJECT) and saxophonist SCOTT PAGE (PINK FLOYD). Talk about a rock ‘n’ roll dream team!
● Get ready for a co-headlining collab like no other: BRIT FLOYD is teaming up with GET THE LED OUT for a show on August 20 at the Hartford Healthcare Amphitheatre in Bridgeport, CT. Tickets are on sale now for this epic celebration of two of the world’s most iconic rock bands.
Every night, Wish You Were Here 50 Tour audiences are treated to BRIT FLOYD’s award-winning laser and light show, massive circular screen, inflatables, and theatrics. The tour is a tribute to the iconic album, featuring four of PINK FLOYD’s most beloved songs – “Shine On You Crazy Diamond,” “Welcome to the Machine,” “Have A Cigar” and “Wish You Were Here” – and, of course, some of their other classics.
The talented band of musicians that’s won over audiences worldwide will be performing note-for-note renditions of all the classic PINK FLOYD tracks. The ensemble includes BRIT FLOYD’s long-time guitarist/lead vocalist and musical director DAMIAN DARLINGTON, bassist/lead vocalist IAN CATTELL, and CANADIAN IDOL WINNER vocalist EVA AVILA, along with other expert musicians.
BRIT FLOYD has been around the block a few times, having performed over 1,500 shows since their launch in Liverpool, England in January 2011. They’ve sold out tours across the globe and played at some of the world’s most iconic venues, including London’s Royal Albert Hall and NYC’s Radio City Music Hall. Their show is a phenomenon, widely regarded as the world’s greatest rock tribute experience.
