The Aussie metal marauders KING PARROT are back with a bang, unleashing a seriously disturbing (in a good way?) video for their new track “Look Away I’m Hideous” from their forthcoming album, A Young Person’s Guide To KING PARROT – dropping June 6, 2025, worldwide. The band’s guitarist Squiz is a self-proclaimed metalhead with a penchant for the bizarre.
The new video is a collaboration with the talented Australian artist “The Art Of Fox”, known for his eye-catching and often unsettling artwork. It’s a sensory overload that takes you on a wild ride into the world of modern-day body modification disasters. Think extreme piercings, tattoos, and… well, let’s just say it’s not for the faint of heart!
Squiz had this to say about the concept of the new video: “Perplexed as to what drives the desires of seemingly already attractive people to cross that line into addictive, overblown, plastic surgery modification. And to just keep ramping it up? And then also, the lovers and appreciators of said mods? I mean, I got body issues up the wazoo but this stuff seems inherently dangerous and alien to me. In any case… As is your want!”
To celebrate the release of their new single, KING PARROT will be touring Australia extensively in May and June, with a bunch of new dates announced across the country. They’ll also be joining forces with ACID BATH and PENTAGRAM for a show in New York at Brooklyn Paramount on July 25. And if that’s not enough, they’ll be hitting the road with PANTERA and AMON AMARTH on “The Heaviest Tour Of The Summer” across the United States.

The tracklisting for A Young Person’s Guide To KING PARROT is as follows:
Get What Ya Given
Fuck You And The Horse You Rode In On
Cunning As A Dunny Rat
It’s A Rort
Punish The Runt
Target Pig Elite
I Got The Right
Look Away I’m Hideous
Glazed And Diseased In Defeat
Pissing On The Fist Of The Law
A Young Person’s Guide To KING PARROT is the band’s first new album in five years, and it’s a doozy. Recorded at Melbourne’s Dangertone Studios with engineer Luke Walton, it’s a hostilesounding, abrasive, and urgent record that promises to be a wild ride. Fans of PANTERA and CROWBAR will likely feel right at home.
The band has adopted a new approach to the studio process, while maintaining their organic and old-school writing style. The result is their most complete and aggressive sound to date.
