Industrial sorcerer Mortiis and the shadow-wreathed black metal force UADA are joining spells for a North American co-headlining tour unlike anything either has attempted before — a run built around full-album performances, rare anniversary sets, and a handpicked supporting lineup featuring Rome (Jerome Reuter) and Wraith Knight.
UADA will perform their entire 2016 debut Devoid of Light, then return to the stage for a Ceremonial Castings 30-year anniversary set with Wraith Knight. Meanwhile, Mortiis will resurrect material from his 2001 classic The Smell of Rain, alongside other volumes pulled from the deeper, colder corners of his dystopian catalog.
UADA spoke at length about assembling this rare bill, calling it a deeply personal moment and a tribute to fans who value thoughtful, genre-straddling lineups:
“This tour is my gift to the fans: an opportunity to witness a moment that may never come again… a combination that should deliver a strikingly unique, yet cohesive experience… one I hope becomes an unforgettable memory.”
Mortiis, currently deep in conjuration for his next album, adds:
“As I’m creating and uncreating this new music, I hear ghosts from The Smell of Rain… echoes from the past, mingling with strange sounds of the future. It feels natural to unearth these songs again. Here I am, clawing through recordings from a quarter century ago, preparing for 2026.”
