MUGSHOT Roar Back with Long-Awaited Sophomore Album, All The Devils Are Here

San Jose’s heaviest export doesn’t hold back—again.

It took nearly a decade, but MUGSHOT has officially clawed their way back into the metalcore/hardcore spotlight with the release of All The Devils Are Here, out now via Pure Noise Records. Yes, the wait has been long—but judging by the sound of this record, the band spent those years simmering in pure rage and distortion.

After 2016’s Dull Boy and the scalding Cold Will EP last year, the San Jose wrecking crew return with twelve blistering tracks that mix pit-punching aggression and the kind of unfiltered angst that might make your mom call a therapist. Produced by actual genre wizard Randy Leboeuf (you know him from his work with Kublai Kahn, The Acacia Strain, and basically every band that sounds like a street fight), the album is MUGSHOT at their most refined—and somehow, their most violent.

“This album is the most collaborative we’ve ever been,” the band shared. “Everyone contributed musically and lyrically. It’s the first time we didn’t self-produce, and Randy really felt like a fifth member. It’s the most personal and pissed off we’ve ever been.”

Spoiler: it shows.

From the moment the opening track “Die In Fear” kicks in, you can tell this isn’t some soft, introspective comeback record. This is MUGSHOT, reloaded. If Cold Will was a throat punch to the systems of authority, All The Devils Are Here turns inward, channeling personal demons into sonic warfare. There’s still the band’s signature swagger and slam, but with more depth, more honesty—and more chances you’ll hurt yourself in the pit.

Even with a new lineup twist—vocalist Ringo Waterman has officially found his footing after joining in 2023—the band hasn’t mellowed with age. If anything, they’ve doubled down. Maybe it’s something in the West Coast water, or maybe they just really missed playing loud music in small rooms full of sweaty strangers.

The band also dropped a video for the album’s title track today. It’s loud, it’s chaotic, and yes—it does make you want to run headfirst into a wall (in a good way).

MUGSHOT is living proof that time away doesn’t mean softening up. If anything, All The Devils Are Here proves they’ve only gotten louder, angrier, and more precise in their mission to bring chaos to a genre that—let’s face it—could always use another good punch in the gut. Welcome back, boys. Try not to break the floor this time.
