Hold onto your baggy pants, South American nu-metal stans – PRIMER 55 just pulled the ultimate “see you never” move. The reunited chaos-makers have bailed on their tour with ILL NIÑO (celebrating 25 years of Revolution Revolución, which makes us feel old) and the ever-colorful (HED)P.E. this spring. Guess we’ll have to wait longer for that sweet sweet “Loose” live scream therapy.
The tour isn’t completely dead though – ILL NIÑO (you know, the guys who made Spanglish breakdowns cool before Rosalía was born) and (HED)P.E. (nu-metal’s reggae-punk weirdo uncles) will still melt faces across Peru, Chile, Argentina, and Brazil. As for PRIMER 55? They hit us with that classic vague-band-statement:
“Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, Primer 55 will not be able to join our friends in Ill Niño and Hed for the upcoming South American shows this summer. We apologize and we hope to see you all soon.”
Later, they doubled down, insisting it’s not “drama” with promoters or their tour buddies. Just… “circumstances”. Maybe their JNCOs got stuck in customs? We’re choosing to believe it’s something wholesome like a surprise puppy adoption spree.
THE SHOWS MUST GO ON: ILL NIÑO & (HED)P.E. (South America’s still lit):
4/24 Lima, PER @ Yield Rock
4/26 Santiago, CHL @ Teatro Cariola

So what’s next for PRIMER 55? According to Lambgoat, they’re channeling their energy into “writing and recording” – aka studio time to craft more song titles in ALL CAPS. But fear not! You “can” still catch them touring with SMILE EMPTY SOUL (early 2000s angst intact) and MAKES MY BLOOD DANCE (actual band name, not a rejected My Chemical Romance song).
