SATCHVAI (Joe Satriani and Steve Vai) Announce 2026 North American Tour With Animals As Leaders

Because apparently too many guitar solos is not a real medical condition.

SATCHVAI — the ultra-shred supergroup starring Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, plus human metronome Kenny Aronoff, low-end swagger machine Marco Mendoza, and tone sorcerer Pete Thorn — are bringing their “Surfing With The Hydra” tour to North America in spring 2026. Support: none other than the prog-metal puzzle-masters Animals As Leaders, who will happily melt your brain before Joe & Steve melt the rest of it.

Pre-sale: Dec 11, 10 AM local (Live Nation All Access)
General sale: Dec 12, 10 AM local

This tour marks the first time in their nearly 50-year friendship that Satriani and Vai are officially a band rather than “two guitar legends who keep accidentally meeting on tour posters.” Expect songs from the upcoming SATCHVAI record plus plenty of shared-catalog fan favorites — basically all the stuff that made you pick up a guitar at 14 and immediately fail to play.

After a huge European summer run (London, Paris, Hellfest, etc.) and a new single “Dancing” arriving March 2, 2026, the duo are officially back for another round of “my hands hurt just watching this.”

Satriani: “We can’t wait to play the new material… and yes, Animals As Leaders are coming. You do NOT want to miss this lineup.”
Vai: “Joe and I struck pure jammin’ gold. Childhood fantasy unlocked.”
