Pittsburgh deathcore giants Signs Of The Swarm have unleashed their sixth full-length album, To Rid Myself of Truth, today (August 22nd) through Century Media Records. To mark the release, the band has also dropped a crushing new video for the track “Natural Selection”, now streaming on YouTube here.
The video, directed by longtime collaborator Eric DiCarlo, captures the ferocity that has already made “Natural Selection” a fan favorite during the band’s recent tours across North America and Europe.
Frontman David Simonich describes the track as a turning point in their live set:
“‘Natural Selection’ has become a defining moment in our live show. We knew it had to be the anchor of this album cycle. The song is about transformation—the prey becoming the predator—surpassing limits and evolving into something stronger.”
A Personal and Cathartic Record
To Rid Myself of Truth finds the band at their most vulnerable yet devastatingly heavy. Simonich calls the album “the most personal and honest record” he has ever written with the band, drawing on real-life experiences and emotional struggles.
Drummer Bobby Crow adds:
“It’s been years in the making, and it’s surreal to finally put this album in the hands of fans. With six records under our belt, I think this one has something for everyone who’s been following us over the last 11 years. We wanted it to feel heavy, cathartic, and alive—and I can’t wait to see these songs take on a life of their own on tour.”
The album was produced by Josh Schroeder (Lorna Shore, Mental Cruelty, Varials, King 810) and showcases the band’s evolution beyond deathcore roots, drawing sonic inspiration from acts like Meshuggah, Gojira, and Fear Factory.
