Slayer launch ‘Hell On Tour’ digital exhibit honoring 40 Years of Hell Awaits

The official Slayer online museum, Slaytanic Verses, opened its newest digital collection on Monday (10th). The latest exhibit, Hell On Tour, marks the 40th anniversary of Hell Awaits and revisits the band’s 1985 world tour. At the center of the exhibit is Slayer’s original handwritten tour notebook, offering a rare day-by-day account of the band’s rise. The blue-covered log, kept by their tour manager, chronicles the intense four-week stretch from March 15 to April 19, 1985.

The collection also includes never-before-seen interviews with Tom Araya and Kerry King, reflecting on the chaos and intensity of that pivotal era. For over four decades, Slayer have become one of the Big Four thrash metal legends alongside Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax. Though founding guitarist Jeff Hanneman passed away in 2013, with Gary Holt stepping in, and Paul Bostaph rejoining on drums, the band’s legacy remains.

After completing their final world tour in 2019, Slayer surprised fans with festival appearances in 2024, with more one-off performances expected in the coming year. Fans can now explore the Hell On Tour and look through Slayer’s forty-plus-year legacy through Slaytanic Verses, at this location.
