Stephen Brodsky — best known as the creative force behind Cave In, Mutoid Man, and roughly half of modern heavy music’s emotional range — is taking his acoustic hardcore covers project on the road this February.
Brodsky has announced a short West Coast run for his Acoustic Hardcore Covers tour, bringing his stripped-down interpretations of classic 1990s hardcore and post-hardcore songs to three intimate venues in California.
Yes, this is the same Stephen Brodsky associated with crushing riffs, space-metal epics, and occasionally alarming levels of volume — now quietly reimagining songs by bands like Snapcase, Converge, and Into Another with nothing but an acoustic guitar and his voice. Hardcore, but indoors. And seated.
Tour Dates
02/05 — San Diego, CA @ Whistle Stop
02/06 — Los Angeles, CA @ Harvard & Stone
02/07 — Costa Mesa, CA @ Wayfarer
Throughout 2025, Brodsky released a steady stream of acoustic covers of influential hardcore and post-hardcore tracks from the 1990s. The project served as both a tribute and a personal excavation of the music that shaped him, eventually culminating in the release of Cut To The Core Vol. 1, which dropped on Halloween.
The tour offers a rare chance to see Brodsky in his most minimal form — no walls of amps, no blast beats, no cosmic light shows — just the songs, the stories behind them, and the unexpected emotional weight that comes from hearing hardcore classics played at conversational volume.
Tickets are available now. Earplugs optional. Nostalgia guaranteed.
