STRYPER’s Performance At SWEDEN ROCK FESTIVAL Canceled Due To Plane’s ‘Malfunctioning Smoke Detector System And Power Failure’

Well, folks, looks like THE DIVINE PLAN™ had other ideas. Christian rock legends STRYPER just axed their slot at the 2025 Sweden Rock Festival – Thursday, June 5 in Sölvesborg, Sweden. Cue the sad guitar solo.

Here’s the deal, straight from STRYPER’s socials: “We regret to announce that STRYPER will be unable to perform at Sweden Rock Festival this year.”

The reason? A plane decided to be extra dramatic mid-flight to Copenhagen: “Malfunctioning smoke detectors AND a power failure? Talk about an overachieving disaster. The flight turned back to the U.S., leaving fans hangin’ like a high note in a power ballad.”

Bonus irony: STRYPER, named after a Bible verse about healing (Isaiah 53:5), couldn’t even heal this tour date. (Because nothing says “divine intervention” like a faulty smoke alarm, right?)

But wait! While you weep into your spandex, here’s some trivia: STRYPER’s currently cooking up their FIRST full Christmas album. Five new tracks, five classics – including remakes of their 1985 single “Reason For The Season” and “Winter Wonderland”. (Santa’s getting a METAL sleigh this year.)

They’re fresh off their 40th-anniversary U.S. tour – complete with outfit changes because, let’s face it, yellow-and-black leather never goes out of style. Latest album “When We Were Kings” dropped September 2024, because these guys age like fine hairspray.
