Two titans of classic rock — STYX and CHICAGO — have finally decided to combine their powers for the first time ever. Yes, after decades of parallel careers, millions of albums sold, and enough brass solos to level a stadium, the bands are teaming up for The Windy Cities Tour – All The Hits… Your Kind of Tour, running July 13 through September 6, 2026.
The trek kicks off in West Palm Beach, Florida (because nothing screams Midwest nostalgia like Florida humidity) and wraps at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum.
CHICAGO’s Lee Loughnane says the band is “excited” for the tour and that sharing a bill with STYX for the first time will be “a lot of fun.” (Translation: prepare for an arms race of horn sections versus high-note harmonies.)
STYX’s Tommy Shaw went full origin-story, reminiscing about the mentors who helped shape his early playing before ending with the inevitable: “We can’t wait to spend the summer with them.”
The Midwest wholesomeness is strong with this one.
Why This Tour Is a Big Deal
CHICAGO remain unstoppable: 100+ million records sold, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction, 21 Top 10 singles, five consecutive No. 1 albums, a Lifetime Achievement Grammy, and enough brass to re-score an entire city parade. They’ve toured every single year since they began — 59 years straight. Your favorite metal bands could never.
STYX, meanwhile, keep adding to a catalogue that refuses to age. Their upcoming 18th studio album, Circling From Above, drops via Alpha Dog 2T/UMe with seven members contributing — including “the godfather of STYX” James “JY” Young. Expect the usual blend of space-prog philosophy, arena rock heroics, and choruses you involuntarily shout in parking lots.
