THE WHO Announces Support Acts For ‘The Song Is Over’ North American Farewell Tour, Adds Second Chicago Show

Guess who’s tossing confetti for their grand finale? Yep, Rock and Roll Hall of Famers THE WHO just dropped a lineup of opening acts for their “last” North American tour (cough third farewell attempt cough), dubbed “The Song Is Over Tour”. Joining the chaos: BILLY BOB THORNTON AND THE BOXMASTERS (Hollywood’s favorite actor-slash-country-rockers), eternal sneerer Billy Idol, organ wizard Booker T. Jones (of “Green Onions” fame), ’90s grunge holdouts CANDLEBOX, indie darling FEIST, blues shredder Joe Bonamassa, THE JOE PERRY PROJECT (aka Aerosmith’s guitar god + a supergroup posse), Canadian rocker Tom Cochrane, and genre-blender ZZ Ward. Buckle up.

Oh, and Chicago gets a bonus round! They added a SECOND show on September 9 ’cause demand was wilder than Pete Townshend’s windmill arm. Joe Bonamassa will awkwardly shuffle between both nights, presumably with extra guitar faces.

The tour announcement came with vintage drama: Roger and Pete did a live presser in London while flashing a relic—the football helmet from their 1974 “Odds & Sods” album. Real subtle, guys. “Look at this helmet instead of our wrinkles!”

Tickets for the new Chicago gig? Citi presale kicks off May 20, with the general sale on May 23. Every other date? Already up for grabs. Pro tip: Join the Whooligan fan club for early access, merch, and a ~~super exclusive~~ live album from 1971. You too can relive tinnitus from 50 years ago!

VIP packages include soundcheck access, autographed posters, and lounge invites. Translation: Pay extra to feel fancier than the dude screaming “Baba O’Riley” in the nosebleeds.
