VIMIC Recruits CRYPTA Drummer LUANA DAMETTO For Reunion Show Honoring JOEY JORDISON

VIMIC yanked Luana Dametto (who’s been busy melting faces with CRYPTA) to crash the kit for their big Joey Jordison tribute bash in LA. Mark your calendars: October 3 at the Teragram Ballroom. The Joey Jordison Charitable Fund-backed gig isn’t just a tearjerker tribute – it’s also dropping the zombie apocalypse-delayed VIMIC album. Oh, and Wednesday 13 (yes, MURDERDOLLS fans, that’s your guy) will tag along with some mystery guests. Bring tissues and earplugs.

VIMIC spilled the beans with this hype: “We’re excited to announce that Luana Dametto will be joining us as a special guest drummer for the VIMIC show on October 3rd in Los Angeles!”

They’re not wrong – Luana’s a human drum machine. She gushed about Joey: “Dude was my drumming spirit animal since MTV’s golden era. I literally learned his moves upside down on YouTube! [Ed note: screen-rotating skills sold separately.] His double bass pedals could start earthquakes, and suddenly my ‘hobby’ turned into ‘sorry mom, I’m quitting college to join a metal band.’”

Pro tip: That Kickstarter cash? It’s funding merch Joey doodled ages ago (collectors, start hyperventilating), the album release, and the show. Profits go to Broken Strings – an Iowa charity swapping guitars for… wait for it… DRUMS. Because apparently, kids need louder hobbies.

VIMIC singer Kalen Chase told Loaded Radio about the album chaos: “We’ve been sitting on this thing longer than a dragon hoards gold. Post-Joey’s passing, it’s equal parts therapy session and victory lap. Also, fans? Stop sliding into my DMs about recipes – the album’s happening, Karen!”

On filming the gig? Kalen joked: “If all else fails, I’ll VHS-tape it from the soundboard. Grainy footage? Still metal as hell.”

Fun fact break! After SLIPKNOT gave Jordison the boot in 2013, he started SCAR THE MARTYR, which morphed into VIMIC (name change = musical witness protection program). Their 2016 single “Simple Skeletons” got love from Loudwire and even NME – because who doesn’t want Dave Mustaine shredding on their track? Oh wait, they DID that on “Fail Me (My Temple)”. Mustaine himself barked: “This album wails! High-octane stuff – we dragged them to South America so crowds could lose their minds responsibly.”
