Doom metal titans Yob will be inducted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame this year, coinciding with the band’s 25th anniversary. The honor solidifies their legacy as genre-defining veterans. The 18th Annual Induction and Concert is scheduled for Saturday, October 11th at the Aladdin Theater in Portland, OR.
Band founder Mike Scheidt shared the following:
Yob recorded our first demo in 1999, but the birth of the idea came in 1996. It was a passion project inspired by the love of heavy music. No future plans beyond that. Fast forward nearly 30 years to now being inducted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame, “surreal” as a description pales to the reality of it. Words fail. Gratitude does not. We’re sending endless gratitude to everyone who has supported us in any way.
Additionally Yob announced four U.S. shows for December.
