Late Evening Talk: Martin Schulman (CENTINEX, DEMONICAL) — Old-School to the Bone

Swedish death metal veteran Martin Schulman — the founding bassist and driving force behind CENTINEX and DEMONICAL — joins us for a late evening talk that’s equal parts brutal and honest.

With the new CENTINEX album With Guts and Glory out now (released November 7 via Black Lion Records), Martin dives into the making of what the band calls an “unholy and punkish death metal hit machine.” Expect talk of sacred symbols, raw riffs, and the kind of old-school energy that refuses to die.

We also get into the realities of being old-school in 2025 — what’s gone wrong with modern metal, how to keep European death metal alive overseas, and why attitude still matters as much as blast beats.

If Lemmy had been born in Sweden and traded whiskey for corpse paint, his name would probably be Martin Schulman.

So grab a drink, turn it up loud, and step into the world of pure, unfiltered death metal spirit — With Guts, Glory, and Martin Schulman.
