SOULFLY Announces “Favela Dystopia 2025” US Tour With GO AHEAD AND DIE

Brazilian metal veterans SOULFLY are hitting the road once again — and this time, they’re bringing the chaos twice over. The band has announced the “Favela Dystopia 2025” U.S. tour with GO AHEAD AND DIE, the feral side project led by Max Cavalera and his son Igor Amadeus Cavalera.

The run kicks off November 1 in Roswell, New Mexico, and wraps up on November 23 in Flagstaff, Arizona — a full month of tribal grooves, primal riffs, and what Max himself calls “lethal” double-duty madness.

“I’m thrilled to be doing double duty with Soulfly and Go Ahead And Die on the road together,” says Max. “The raw power of GAAD combined with the tribal fury of Soulfly is going to be lethal! Enter the pit at your own risk!!!”

So, yes — the circle pit might actually qualify as a natural disaster this fall.

The New Era: “Chama” Arrives October 24

The tour comes hot on the heels of SOULFLY’s upcoming 13th studio album, Chama, due out October 24 via Nuclear Blast Records. Recorded at Platinum Underground Studio in Mesa, Arizona, the record represents a blazing return to the band’s tribal roots while pushing their sound into new territory.

Chama is the Brazilian word for flame — it also means a ‘calling,’” Max explains. “This record is the sound of Soulfly’s fire. I cannot wait to play these songs live for the Tribe!”

Drummer Zyon Cavalera took a more hands-on role this time, co-producing the album alongside Arthur Rizk, known for his work with Power Trip, Cavalera Conspiracy, and Eternal Champion.

“With each Soulfly record I’ve played on, I can feel my evolution happening in real time,” Zyon says. “Handling some of the production for the first time was amazing — we really tried to take the band to places we’ve never been before.”

The album features Dino Cazares (Fear Factory) on one track, Igor Amadeus Cavalera on bass, and Mike De Leon on guitar. The artwork was created by Carletta Parrish, capturing the album’s raw, spiritual energy.
