JOHN LODGE, the legendary bassist, songwriter, and vocalist of THE MOODY BLUES, and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, is taking his electrifying new show, Singer In A Rock And Roll Band, on the road, with new dates announced for California, Arizona, Texas, and Oklahoma. And, fun fact: JOHN LODGE has been rocking out for over 50 years, and has sold over 70 million albums with THE MOODY BLUES!
After the huge success of his Days Of Future Passed show, JOHN LODGE decided to go back to his roots and bring a true MOODY BLUES experience to the fans. With the help of his talented band, he’ll be performing the classic hits that he’s loved playing for decades, with a dash of magic that’ll leave you feeling joyful and nostalgic. And, did you know that JOHN LODGE was voted one of the “10 most influential bass players on the planet”?
When JOHN LODGE wrote the hit single “I’m Just A Singer (In A Rock And Roll Band)” in 1972, he was responding to the pressure to change the world, saying he’s just a singer in a rock and roll band! And, guess what? That’s still who he is today! His shows will take you on a MOODY BLUES journey through the hits and deep cuts, along with some great stories and memories. By the way, THE MOODY BLUES were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame in 2018.
This incredible new show will feature songs from the iconic albums, including Days of Future Passed, Seventh Sojourn, and Long Distance Voyager, plus tributes to his bandmates. And, you can catch JON DAVISON of YES joining JOHN LODGE on stage for a special rendition of “I’m Just A Singer (In A Rock And Roll Band)”!
The December dates kick off on December 4 at Cerritos PAC, and wrap up on December 14 in Austin. This will be JOHN LODGE’s first solo shows in Austin and Oklahoma City, and he’s thrilled to be bringing his MOODY BLUES magic to new audiences! After a stroke in 2023, JOHN LODGE has been going from strength to strength, driven by his love for the music, and his desire to ‘keep the MOODY BLUES music alive’. As he says, “I’m delighted that we are announcing these dates for December… I am so looking forward to the July tour starting next month, and being able to continue it into December.” And, he’s particularly excited to be performing in California, Arizona, and new venues in Austin and Oklahoma City.
