Apparently, some MAGA folks just discovered that GWAR — the band that’s been fake-beheading presidents since before most of them learned to spell “communism” — still does what they’ve always done: spray fake blood, cut off papier-mâché heads, and traumatize festival bathrooms.
This weekend at Riot Fest, GWAR treated the crowd to their usual Muppet-from-Hell routine, this time chopping off Elon Musk’s head and skewering Donald Trump. Cue conservative outrage. Breitbart and the New York Post bravely sprang into action to defend two of the richest men on Earth from papier-mâché decapitation. Somewhere, a MAGA keyboard warrior wept into his “Let’s Go Brandon” mug while typing: “This is incitement! Sure, they killed Obama too, but THIS time it’s different because… reasons.”
“Democrats can’t help themselves. They love promoting violence,” declared Libs of TikTok, apparently forgetting that this was a band that once killed Jesus Christ on stage. If the Son of God didn’t get special treatment, maybe Trump and Musk shouldn’t either.
GWAR’s response was basically: Look, humans already do enough real violence on their own — we’re just the Saturday morning cartoon version. If you think this is normalizing violence, you probably also think the New York Post is journalism. (Ouch.)
Even Riot Fest joined in the fun, tweeting: “GWAR crossed a major line” is the funniest thing I’ve ever heard. Which is true. The only “major line” GWAR has ever crossed is the one into the porta-potty before their fake blood supply runs out.
And the kicker? The viral clip that sparked the whole tantrum came from a brand-new account called @hottakekaren, whose bio reads “GWAR’s biggest fan.” It tagged GWAR, Riot Fest, Elon Musk, Trump, JD Vance, and even the FBI — because why not? If this was a psy-op to piss off MAGA and remind the world GWAR is still out here murdering mascots of late-stage capitalism, then congratulations: mission accomplished.
Saw a friend’s video from Riot Fest—GWAR mock-beheaded Elon Musk on stage. That’s not edgy, it’s grotesque and reckless and normalizes violence against a real person. This is not okay. Riot Fest and GWAR crossed a major line. #RiotFest #GWAR #ElonMusk @RiotFest @gwar @elonmusk @X pic.twitter.com/ngr0GRVbP9
