BAEST Drop New Single “Stormbringer” – Death Metal with a Rock ‘n’ Roll Forecast

🌩️ New Album Colossal Coming August 15 via Century Media

Denmark’s finest death metal wrecking crew, BAEST, have unleashed the storm—literally—with their brand-new single “Stormbringer”, the opening track from their upcoming album Colossal, due August 15 via Century Media Records. The track arrives with a tour-powered music video filled with behind-the-scenes mayhem from their recent North American run supporting Arch Enemy, all edited together by Christian Constantin Pontoppidan (Impuls Film).

What’s This Storm About?

In BAEST’s own words:

“Like a distant rumble the ominous almost AC/DC intro riff predicts a gathering storm with a lightning strike as the thunderous bass drums kick in… ‘Stormbringer’ lays the foundation for Colossal, bringing rock’n’roll and death metal together in a grandiose and almost destroying storm.”

Translation: This is where your dad’s old-school riffs get run over by a tank full of blast beats.

“Stormbringer” is equal parts groovy, gritty, and gloriously over-the-top—a riff-fueled harbinger of what’s to come on the band’s next full-length. It opens like a sinister stadium anthem before launching into the kind of chaos BAEST is known for: thunderous vocals, tight rhythms, and just enough melody to lull you into a false sense of security before the next sonic landslide.

Colossal – Coming August 15

Produced by Tue Madsen at Antfarm Studio (a man responsible for heaviness from Heaven Shall Burn, The Haunted, and The Black Dahlia Murder), Colossal clocks in at 9 tracks over 42 minutes of high-octane, genre-hopping death metal. If “Stormbringer” is any indication, this record isn’t afraid to get a little flashy while still ripping your head off.

BAEST continues to prove they can walk the line between brutality and swagger—one boot in old-school rock, the other firmly planted in the grave.

Forecast for August 15: Heavy riffs, scattered blast beats, and 100% chance of destruction.
Don’t forget your leather jacket—the Stormbringer is coming.
