Polish death metal cult SACRIVERSUM have released a new single and music video titled “March Of The Giants.” The track is taken from the band’s upcoming album Before The Birth Of Light, which is set to arrive May 8 via Fireflash Records.
Formed in 1992 in Łódź, SACRIVERSUM built their name during the era when death metal began pushing beyond its early limits. Their 1994 debut The Shadow Of The Golden Fire placed them among forward-thinking bands like PESTILENCE, DEATH, GOREFEST, and ATHEIST, blending old school brutality with progressive and atmospheric elements.
The band commented on the concept behind the new track:
“The title ‘March of the Giants’ immediately conjures up a certain vision in the listener’s mind, further emphasised by the rhythmic nature of the song. Many people we talked to suggested that this structure is similar to the epic songs of BATHORY. One can immediately associate it with a heavily armed army conquering new territories, destroying everything in its path. But for us, it’s more about the aspect of unstoppability. It’s a song about how once you’ve gathered your team and set out together to achieve your goal, nothing can stop you from achieving it.”
Before The Birth Of Light will feature nine new tracks and continues the band’s return since reactivating in 2022, delivering a mix of raw death metal, progressive touches, and even Hammond organ passages that give the material a unique atmosphere.
