FROZEN SOUL have canceled their planned August tour with BODYBOX, MAUL, and ETERNAL following multiple deaths in the band’s families.
The Texas death metal crew confirmed that drummer Matt Dennard’s father unexpectedly passed away on Friday, July 10. The loss comes just a few months after vocalist Chad Green lost his father in May while the band was on tour. Some cancellations are logistical. This one is simply human.
The band’s record release show scheduled for Saturday, July 18 at Division Brewing in Arlington, TX is still set to happen. FROZEN SOUL also noted that another tour announcement is still planned for later this year, but for now, the August run is off while the band takes time with family.
The band shared the following statement:
Chris from FROZEN SOUL here.. we have never canceled a tour before in our existence as a band but recently we have suffered some devastating losses in our families and we made the difficult decision to cancel our August tour next month. As some of you may know our singer Chad sadly lost his father in May when we were on tour and this past Friday July 10th our drummer Matt’s father unexpectedly passed away as well. Loosing a parent is one of the hardest things to go through in life.. We gave it the weekend to discuss moving forward with the tour but right now we decided it would be best to take some extra time off to be with our family’s and help navigate these terrible losses.. we hope everyone understands. Hug your friends and family a little tighter and tell them you love them every chance you get.
The show this coming Saturday @Division Brewing is still happening and we have one more tour to announce for later this year so keep a lookout and we will see yall soon!
