SUNN O))) have announced a North American tour for this fall, bringing their sacred fog-machine cathedral of volume back to the road.
The run begins October 2 in Louisville, KY and stretches through the Midwest, East Coast, South, Southwest, West Coast, Pacific Northwest, and Canada before wrapping November 1 in Vancouver, BC. Somewhere in there, ordinary concepts like “songs,” “tempo,” and “standing near the speaker safely” will likely become philosophical problems.
Tickets go on sale July 17.
For the uninitiated, SUNN O))) remain one of heavy music’s most beautifully strange institutions: part drone ritual, part amplifier worship, part slow-motion geological event. Their shows are less “concert” and more “being politely swallowed by a monolith.”
