Members of Diamond Head, Raven, Tank, Praying Mantis unite for NWOBHM celebration
What happens when five legends of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal get together and say, “Hey, let’s just play all the good stuff from the late ‘70s and early ‘80s”? You get LORDS OF NWOBHM, the most self-explanatory supergroup in recent memory.
Featuring:
Tino Troy (PRAYING MANTIS) – Guitar
John Gallagher (RAVEN) – Bass
Karl Wilcox (DIAMOND HEAD) – Drums
Cliff Evans (TANK) – Guitar
Carl Sentance (PERSIAN RISK) – Vocals
Basically, it’s a time machine made out of Marshall stacks.
The setlist promises classics from each member’s original bands, plus handpicked tracks from other icons of the NWOBHM era. If you’ve ever air-guitared to Lightning to the Nations or Don’t Need Your Money, this is your dream set — live, loud, and seasoned.
First confirmed stops: two shows in Tokyo, Japan in January 2026, with more dates on the way. Because apparently Japan still has excellent taste in metal and better concert etiquette than your cousin Chad who tried to stage dive at a dinner show.
As the band members put it:
“NWOBHM never dies!” – Carl Sentance
“This music is in our blood!” – Cliff Evans
“The second wave is imminent!” – Tino Troy
So polish up your bullet belt, warm up those air drums, and get ready to salute the denim-clad gods of old. The LORDS OF NWOBHM are coming — and they brought the riffs.
