Death metal veterans Massacre have officially pulled out of their planned participation in the ‘Morbidfest’ European tour alongside Possessed, Terrorizer, and others, scheduled for November and December 2025.
Frontman Kam Lee shared the following message on Facebook, explaining the reasons behind the band’s withdrawal:
“ATTENTION ‼️ I am writing to express my sincere apologies for announcing that Massacre will be canceling its participation in the upcoming ‘Morbidfest’ tour with Possessed/Terrorizer, et al., in the EU, scheduled to take place this November and December.
This unfortunate decision has been necessitated by compelling medical health reasons that have necessitated a comprehensive reevaluation of my health, and has forced me to take a medical leave from touring.
Furthermore, certain unresolved logistical issues have also necessitated the band’s decision to withdraw. This is the first time under my leadership the band has had to cancel an already scheduled tour. As a matter of principle, I have always endeavored to ensure that Massacre fulfills its obligations and performs at every scheduled event. Unfortunately, despite my best efforts to identify an alternative solution, I have been unable to do so, and so it is with much regret that we must step back from touring at this time. However, I am committed to addressing my health issues and working to reschedule the cancelled performances for a future tour event, potentially in 2026. I am confident that the wait will be worthwhile, as Massacre has significant plans for 2026 that I believe will be exceptional. Regardless of Massacre having to withdraw from the tour, we wish to express our gratitude and best wishes for all the bands on this tour. Thank you for your understanding, patience, and continued support. – Kam Lee -”
Lee’s statement makes it clear that while this is the first cancellation under his leadership, it won’t mark the end for Massacre — as he hints at “significant plans” for 2026 that promise to make the wait worthwhile.
Fans have already been sending messages of support, wishing Kam a full recovery and expressing hope to see the band return to the stage stronger (and heavier) next year.
