Metal Threat Fest 2025 Hit Hard by Visa Denials

Metal Threat Fest 2025 is facing some unfortunate setbacks, as multiple bands have now pulled out of the lineup due to visa denials, health issues, and last-minute withdrawals.

This week alone, the following updates were announced:

  • And Oceans – visas denied

  • Desaster – cancelled due to health-related issues

  • Destroyer 666 – visas denied

  • Grave Desecrator – visas denied

  • Satanic Warmaster – initially withdrew after no approval, later officially denied

Festival organizers noted that these circumstances are highly unusual. In fact, outside of a rare case with Carpathian Forest years ago, outright denials like this have been nearly unheard of.

“In case you’re not aware, I have been doing my own visas for the past decade. I assist other US agencies with smaller bands here and there. I’ve only seen one actual denial for Carpathian Forest. I’m not quite sure what is going on but these are unprecedented times.”

While speculation continues about stricter vetting policies — possibly linked to the “50 million visa vetting process” recently mentioned in political circles — the festival stresses that these denials do not appear to be politically motivated.

Despite the lineup losses, Metal Threat Fest remains committed to delivering a weekend of extreme music. Updates on replacements or further lineup adjustments are expected in the coming weeks.

Stay tuned for more details as the situation develops.
