VULVODYNIA Vocalist ZION BITTENBENDER Steps Away From Touring Following Allegations

South African deathcore heavyweights Vulvodynia have issued an official statement addressing the recent allegations involving their vocalist Zion Bittenbender.

According to the band, Bittenbender will be returning home from their current Asian tour to handle the situation “through the appropriate legal channels.” The group noted that it would be “extremely difficult” to deal with the matter responsibly while continuing to tour internationally.

Former frontman Lwandile Prusent, who has recently been performing on guitar, will return to vocal duties for the remainder of 2025 to ensure the band can fulfill all upcoming commitments.

“We appreciate everyone’s understanding and support while this situation is handled properly and respectfully,” the band said.

Bittenbender joined Vulvodynia earlier this year, making this an unexpectedly short run with the group. Fans have reacted with a mix of disbelief and dark humor, some noting that this might be a new record for a deathcore vocalist — “three shows before the allegations came in.”
