Grindmother to perform two final shows after 7 year hiatus

Grindmother — the 77-year-old grindcore trailblazer who first made headlines screaming her way into the extreme music world at age 65 — will perform two final live sets this December, joining Cattle Decapitation’s No Fear For Tomorrow Tour.

These farewell shows mark the end of an unlikely yet legendary run, as Grindmother steps away from the stage following a seven-year hiatus and amid her battle with dementia.

Grindmother will be joined by her son and longtime musical partner Rayny Forster (Moshpit Tragedy, Corrupt Leaders), alongside Topon Das and Mathieu “Vil” Vilandré (both of Fuck The Facts).

The shows will also feature Cattle Decapitation, Aborted, Frozen Soul, and Tribal Gaze.

Foster shared the following:

We wanted her to have a proper farewell for the fans she loves more than anything. We’re beyond thankful to Travis Ryan and Cattle Decapitation for the opportunity to bring her in front of such a large audience. And of course, to our fellow Canadian grindcore family in Fuck The Facts who have graciously accepted the call. This will be a great celebration.

These will be her final live appearances, but it won’t be the last you’ll hear from us. We’re working on new music, and there’s a lot more to come.
