Formed in ’96, these veterans dropped five albums and toured like maniacs before pulling the plug in 2019. Now they’re back to melt faces on the high seas aboard Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas – aka the only cruise ship where “deck party” means a circle pit at sunrise. Pro tip: pack seasickness pills and earplugs.
“It’s been way too long since we last sailed the 70000TONS OF METAL — all the way back in 2014! What a ride that was: unforgettable memories, lifelong friendships, and even taking home the Cripper award. Now, in 2026, Izegrim is making its epic reunion, and we couldn’t be more excited! What better way to kick things off than on this legendary ship? We’re beyond thrilled and honored to be playing 700000TONS OF METAL again, and we can’t wait to reunite with the entire metal family aboard!”
Translation: They’ll be the band drunkenly high-fiving you at the buffet line. Also, yes, they did win an award called the “Cripper” once. We’re not asking.
Now in its 16th year, 70000 TONS is the OG “metal cruise where you might trip over a snoozing guitarist in the hot tub.” The 2026 voyage kicks off from Miami on January 29, ferrying 3,000 metalheads (and 60 bands) to Nassau before returning February 2. Fun fact: this is the only vacation where “Bahamas” translates to “four days of sleep deprivation and air-guitaring at strangers.”
