JOHN BUSH Announces Three Shows Celebrating His Era Of ANTHRAX

Alright, metalheads – after roughly a million years of “will he, won’t he,” JOHN BUSH is finally answering your texts! The guy’s booking a victory lap for his ANTHRAX era (1992-2005, aka “the years your older sibling insists were better”). This December, he’s belting out bangers from all four albums he recorded with the thrash legends: “Sound Of White Noise” (the one with “Only,” duh), “Stomp 442” (the underdog), “Volume 8” (the “we’re still here!” album), and “We’ve Come For You All” (the “why didn’t this go platinum?” record).

Backing him up? His CATEGORY 7 homies – guitar slingers PHIL DEMMEL (ex-MACHINE HEAD, professional riff tornado) and MIKE ORLANDO (ADRENALINE MOB’s shred wizard), plus drumlord Jason Bittner. Oh, and JOEY VERA from his ARMORED SAINT days (because who needs CATEGORY 7’s bassist Jack Gibson when your calendar’s broken?).

Bush drops the mic: “I’ve talked about doing this for a long time – and now, I’m finally doing it. Fans constantly tell me how much those records meant to them, and how they miss hearing those songs live. It’s very humbling. The wait is over.” Translation: Your Spotify playlists are about to get a live upgrade.

On recruiting his crew: “These guys are incredible, badass musicians, and it hit me – why look anywhere else? They’re already right here. It was a total no-brainer.” Also a cost-saving measure – group discounts on hotel rooms, folks.

CATEGORY 7 will warm up crowds with their own face-melting set before switching gears to back Bush’s ANTHRAX throwback hour. Pro tip: Expect deep cuts so rare, even the band’s roadies might forget the lyrics.

JOHN BUSH’s ANTHRAX TIME MACHINE TOUR:
Dec. 13 – Los Angeles, CA @ Whisky A-Go-Go (bring hairspray)
Dec. 18 – St. Charles, IL @ Arcada Theatre (cheese curd break included)
Dec. 20 – New York, NY @ Racket (prepare for crowd-surfing dads)

Tickets drop Friday, August 1 at 10 a.m. – set alarms, cancel plans, and pray your Wi-Fi holds.

Fun fact: Bush has teased this tour since smartphones had buttons. In July 2024, he told Eonmusic he wasn’t keen on a 60-date slog but floated the idea of festivals or “shows where people actually show up.” Same interview revealed he does Pilates – because screaming “Reign of Fire” requires core strength.
