Megadeth Announced Final Album And Global Farewell Tour

So, DAVE MUSTAINE just dropped a bombshell on the band’s site: “…It’s our last studio album. We’ve made a lot of friends over the years and I hope to see all of you on our global farewell tour.” Cue the collective sobbing of thrash metal fans worldwide. More deets coming soon™.

Speaking of, MEGADETH is dropping their final album early next year via Mustaine’s own label (because of course) and Frontiers’ mysterious new BLKIIBLK imprint. First single? “Later this fall,” which in non-metal time could mean anywhere between September and the apocalypse.

Dave’s essay-length emotional rollercoaster continues: “There’s so many musicians that have come to the end… blah blah REVOLUTION… changed the guitar world… love you all, bye.” (Paraphrased, obviously. But let’s be real—it’s 98% humblebrag and 2% “buy our merch one last time.”)

TOUR ALERT: They’re hitting the road for a “global farewell tour,” which probably means Dave will retire for approximately 18 months before announcing a “FINAL FINAL TOUR (we swear).”
