MUDVAYNE is throwing a massive 25th-anniversary party for their debut album “L.D. 50” with a U.S. tour this fall. Joining the chaos? Industrial metal veterans STATIC-X (fun fact: they’re like the cyborg uncles of nu-metal) and rising rockers VENDED (fronted by the next-gen offspring of Slipknot members—nepo babies, but make it heavy).
Dropped in 2000 via Epic, “L.D. 50” gave us bangers like “Dig” (the song that made math rock a mosh-pit staple), “Death Blooms”, and “Nothing To Gein” (yes, that’s a serial killer reference—stay edgy, Mudvayne). The album clawed its way to No. 1 on the Heatseekers chart and even snagged a gold plaque from the RIAA for moving half a million copies. Not bad for a bunch of guys who looked like they raided a sci-fi costume shop.
TOUR DATES: Brace yourselves. MUDVAYNE is hitting 30+ cities, from Dubuque’s Q Casino (Sept. 11) to the Mohegan Sun Arena (Oct. 29). Highlights include Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom (Sept. 14), a pit stop in Vegas’s Palms Casino (Sept. 26), and a finale in L.A.’s Hollywood Palladium (Sept. 28). Bonus: They’ll even play Portland’s Theater of the Clouds (Oct. 1)—because where else would you see a band that once dressed like aliens?
