MYSTHICON Resurfaces from the Dukla Forest With New Album “Bieśń”

🖤 Black Metal Meets Folklore, Hurdy-Gurdy and All

After five long years of radio silence—and possibly meditating under a mossy rock in the Dukla woods—Poland’s mysterious black metal collective MYSTHICON has returned. Their new album, Bieśń, drops September 23, 2025, and promises six tracks of icy, forest-drenched black metal infused with doom, prog, and more regional folklore than your grandmother’s attic.

The first single is already out, accompanied by a video full of mood, shadows, and probably at least one cursed tree. Watch it below and feel your soul drift into the Beskid Mountains.

Wait, who exactly is MYSTHICON?

Formed in 2015 by G’Ames, ex-guitarist of Polish avant-garde legends Lux Occulta, MYSTHICON was never your average corpse-painted black metal band. Instead, G’Ames called on an elite lineup of contributors from Vader, Batushka, Hate, Kalt Vindur, and more. Their debut album Silva – Oculis – Corvi (2020) quietly became a cult favorite among those who like their black metal theatrical, layered, and slightly unsettling.

Now, joined again by guitarist Szymon Hadała, the band has evolved into something even stranger and more regionally grounded—drawing from the forests, myths, and spirits of the Dukla, Low Beskids, and Bieszczady Mountains of southeastern Poland. Think folklore, but the kind that gnaws your leg off in the dark.

“Bieśń”: What You’re Getting

  • 6 tracks of genre-melting black metal, described by G’Ames as a fusion of classic black metal, progressive, and doom influences.

  • A reimagined cover of “Creation” from the very first Lux Occulta demo—because why not summon your own past while you’re at it?

  • Guest instruments include hurdy-gurdy, double bass, and acoustic guitar—perfect for fans of both Bathory and baroque folk festivals.

  • Album production handled by Adrian Mięsowicz (Tribe Five Studio), with cover art by the legendary Michał “Xaay” Loranc (God Dethroned, Kamelot, Nile)

  • Logo work by Primeval Era Rising, a name you can trust if you’ve ever squinted at Graveland or Vader shirts.

🗓️ Release Date: September 23, 2025

In the Words of G’Ames:

“The album contains 6 tracks. It is a fusion of classic black metal with elements of progressive music and doom metal… It ends with a cover of ‘Creation’ from the first demo of Lux Occulta, performed in a completely new arrangement. The album features guests playing unusual instruments for black metal—hurdy-gurdy and double bass—that fuel the phenomenal atmosphere.”

TL;DR: This isn’t your average tremolo-and-blastbeat affair. It’s black metal with depth, culture, and maybe a forest god or two.

📡 Stay tuned for more singles, tour announcements, and vinyl release updates. In the meantime, brush up on your Dukla legends and prepare your soul for six tracks of transcendent folklore-fueled chaos.

MYSTHICON is back. And this time, they’re bringing the whole forest with them.
