Listen up, you filthy humans! Freeman Promotions is turning 15, and they’re throwing a boat party so wild, even GWAR’s intergalactic overlords might crack a smile (under all that rubber, probably). On May 13, hop aboard the Liberty Belle at NYC’s Pier 36 for a three-hour cruise around Manhattan (insert your own Gilligan’s Island joke here) featuring RAWG—the “we swear they’re not actually GWAR” tribute band. Fun fact: GWAR’s stage shows are so chaotic they’ve been banned from venues for literal bloodshed. RAWG? Maybe just bring a poncho.
Joining the soggy festivities: TRüKKEN, the tri-state’s answer to “what if the Grateful Dead ate a distortion pedal?” Imagine Jerry Garcia fronting a mosh pit. (Deadheads, bring your tie-dye and earplugs.) DJ Alex Kayne will spin tunes, and oh yeah—you’ll glide past the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, and enough skyline to make your Instagram followers almost forget how boring you are. Pro tip: The outdoor speakers mean you can headbang and pretend you’re in a rom-com montage. Multitasking!
Weirdest flex? GWAR’s own Beefcake the Mighty and Sawborg Destructo endorsed this shindig. Why? Maybe they’re flattered. Maybe they’re bored. Maybe they just like watching humans cosplay as scumdogs. Check out their hype clips below (spoiler: there’s probably fake blood involved).
Grab tickets here before they’re gone. Boat shoes optional, black clothing highly advised.
