Rock ‘n’ roll retirement is officially the new part-time job. Just when you thought Twisted Sister had waved their last spandex-clad goodbye in 2016, here they come roaring back in 2026 for a 50th anniversary world tour. Because hey—farewell is just French for “see you when the offers get fat enough.”
Yes, this is the same Dee Snider who, with full chest hair flying, once declared reunion tours to be total “bullshit.” He swore he was a “man of my word,” tired of bands signing blood contracts only to show up three years later with a new T-shirt design. Black Sabbath, Mötley Crüe—he called them all out. And now, he’s printing his own merch in the exact same font.
To be fair, Dee did once leave a tiny escape hatch in his grand oath: maybe, maybe an occasional charity gig. But “occasional charity gig” is a little different from “full-blown world tour celebrating half a century of Aquanet.” Still, when the offers are “getting close” to numbers with a lot of zeroes, suddenly hypocrisy starts to look like good business.
Jay Jay French was glowing in the press release, reminiscing about their first gig at The Turtleneck Inn (because nothing screams danger like a sweater). He proudly declared:
“We are proud to celebrate a milestone that once felt unthinkable: a 50-year anniversary!! Twisted Forever, Forever Twisted!”
Meanwhile, Dee doubled down on his new philosophy:
“If you’re lucky enough to be in a band that people still want to see after fifty years(!), how can you not answer the call? In 2026, Twisted Fucking Sister will hit stages around the world because WE STILL WANNA ROCK!!”
Translation: if you’re lucky enough to get paid after fifty years, how can you not grab the bag?
No dates have been announced yet, no tickets are on sale, but one thing’s certain: if you bought a Twisted Sister “farewell tour” shirt back in 2016, congratulations—you now own official proof that rock retirement is the biggest scam since “free ringtones.”
Twisted Sister are back. Dee’s eating his words. And fans? Well, fans are eating the ticket fees.
