Within the Ruins Drop Instrumental Version of ‘Phenomena II’, Announce U.S. Tour Dates

METALCORE MATH NERDS WITHIN THE RUINS PULL A “HOLD MY BEER” MOVE

Looks like the Massachusetts mathcore maestros WITHIN THE RUINS decided their latest album wasn’t complicated enough. They’ve just dropped an instrumental version of PHENOMENA II – because apparently screaming about existential crises over djent riffs wasn’t prog enough already. The album’s got 11 tracks of pure noodling, now with 100% less vocalist! (Pro tip: perfect for when you want to pretend you’re studying quantum physics at a rave.)

Fun fact: These guys are such gear nerds, their guitarists probably have more pedals than pairs of socks. Rumor has it they wrote this album using a calculator and a thesaurus of obscure math terms.

TOUR ALERT: BRING EARPLUGS AND A CALCULATOR

They’re dragging OV SULFUR along for the ride – the Vegas deathcore crew who make Satanic rituals sound like a Vegas residency. Here’s where you can catch the chaos:

  • 🗓️ 08/20 – Albany, NY @ Empire Underground
  • 🗓️ 08/21 – Syracuse, NY @ The Song & Dance (Spoiler: There will be neither)
  • 🗓️ 08/22 – Cleveland, OH @ The Foundry (Bring your own welding mask)
  • 🗓️ 08/23 – Battle Creek, MI @ Michigan Metal Fest (Now with 300% more cornfields!)
  • 🗓️ 08/24 – Pittsburgh, PA @ Preserving Underground (Like pickles, but louder)

“We threw in the instrumental because our fans kept asking what the music sounds like without the screaming. Turns out it’s just 11 tracks of us arguing about polyrhythms.”
– Paolo Galang, probably
