The UK leg of CKY’s tour has hit yet another rough patch — this time with BLACKGOLD abruptly dropping off their Bristol show on November 4, accusing CKY frontman Chad I Ginsburg of being a “narcissist.”
In a video statement, BLACKGOLD told fans:
“We can not do another gig next to the frontman of CKY. We can not support that type of narcissism. Our whole touring party just doesn’t want to be around it. We want to play for you guys and we do this for fun, but this has turned not fun.”
They added, not so subtly:
“At least we got to see a really bad vocal cover of ‘96 Quite Bitter Beings.’ F*** Chad.”
It’s not the first time Ginsburg’s name has landed in controversy mid-tour. Just last year, CKY was booted from Alien Ant Farm’s UK run after Ginsburg allegedly assaulted frontman Dryden Mitchell — an incident Ginsburg later described as self-defense.
“Nothing wrong with defending yourself from a bad guy,” he said at the time. “I felt a physical threat, and had I not tried to avoid the attack, I would have been assaulted.”
Between the 2024 altercation with Alien Ant Farm and BLACKGOLD’s 2025 walkout, it’s starting to sound like touring with CKY might come with its own health warning — or at least a strong dose of drama.
