Turnstile Took the Mosh Pit to NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert Series

Okay, imagine NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts – the land of cozy vibes and NPR tote bags – suddenly morphing into Warped Tour 2005. Wild, right? They’ve dipped into heavy sounds before with legends like GWAR (whose idea of “office attire” involves alien blood sprays) and ROYAL THUNDER (frontwoman Miny Parsonz could stun a room with her pipes alone). But TURNSTILE just flipped the script entirely. Fun fact: Two members were in cult hardcore band TRAIL OF LIES before evolving into TURNSTILE’s genre-smooshing magic.

Their Tiny Desk video dropped today, and honey, it’s chaos in the best way. They peel back their usual wall-of-sound for stripped-down versions of Never Enough tracks like “Dreaming” and “Sunshower” – but let’s be real, we’re all here for the vibe check. The energy in that room? Thicker than NPR intern coffee. By the time they hit “Birds,” it’s pandemonium: fans clustering like moths to a amp light, and frontman Brendan Yates cannonballing off a desk into the first-ever Tiny Desk crowd surf. Absolute legend move. NPR staffers probably still finding confetti in their mugs.

This glorious mayhem happened just days before TURNSTILE launches their NEVER ENOUGH TOUR on Sept. 15. Peep those dates below – they’re bringing along SPEED (Aussie hardcore rising stars who’ll make you wanna punch a kangaroo), MANNEQUIN PUSSY (formed after a Philly basement show gone *extremely* right), and genre-blurring opener JANE REMOVER (who makes glitchy electronica feel like a mosh pit). Oh, and shoutout to AMYL & THE SNIFFERS joining later dates – their live shows are chaos incarnate. Bring earplugs.
