BLACK FLAG have announced the first full coast-to-coast U.S. tour from their newest lineup, with the 45-date run stretching from late July through early November.
The trek begins July 29 in Eagle Pass, Texas, then properly picks up in September with dates across Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Montana, the Midwest, East Coast, South, Florida, Southwest, California, and Texas. It wraps November 1 at House of Blues in Houston.
Greg Ginn remains at the center of the current version of BLACK FLAG, now joined by vocalist Max Zanelly, bassist David Rodriguez, and drummer Bryce Weston, all of whom are in their 20s. So yes, the current lineup does look a bit like Ginn accidentally started a band with his grandchildren after finding three distortion pedals and a van with questionable brakes.
This lineup played its first shows last year in Europe and on the West Coast, then appeared at Coachella in April. Now the “Gen Z” edition gets its first proper U.S. marathon, because nothing says youth movement like 45 shows and a founding guitarist old enough to remember when hardcore still had to be invented.
