MASTODON return with a new single, “Your Ghost Again,” a track shaped by a period of personal loss and upheaval within the band. Written in the wake of the death of longtime friend and former bandmate Brent Hinds and the passing of drummer Brann Dailor’s mother, the song leans into grief-driven themes of memory, absence, and emotional dislocation.
Built on layered vocals from Troy Sanders and Brann Dailor, the track moves between heavy, abrasive passages and more atmospheric, melodic sections. Guitar work from Bill Kelliher and Nick Johnston, along with keyboard textures from João Nogueira, pushes the song into a broader, more cinematic space. The single was produced by Patrik Berger and Kurt Ballou, and mixed by Andrew Scheps.
Alongside the release, MASTODON have confirmed a fall 2026 North American tour titled “The Poisonous Weapons Tour,” featuring DEAFHEAVEN and ALCEST in support. The run begins September 16 in Orlando, FL, and concludes October 24 in Dallas, TX.
