The annual MONSTERS OF ROCK CRUISE has announced its 2027 lineup, once again proving that retirement is apparently incompatible with hard rock and heavy metal.
The floating festival returns for its sixteenth voyage on May 6–11, 2027, departing from Los Angeles aboard Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Joy and making a stop in Ensenada, Mexico. Along the way, thousands of fans will spend five days enjoying classic hard rock, traditional metal, artist meet-and-greets, karaoke sessions, guitar clinics, and what may very well become the world’s largest gathering of vintage concert shirts.
Headlining the cruise are TESLA, EXTREME, KK’S PRIEST, SEBASTIAN BACH, QUEENSRŸCHE, L.A. GUNS, ARMORED SAINT, and WINGER, joined by more than 45 artists performing across multiple stages throughout the ship.
Additional entertainment includes artist Q&A sessions, photo opportunities, comedy events, cooking demonstrations, painting classes, shred competitions, and other activities designed to ensure attendees remain busy between sets and buffet visits.
While younger fans may wonder why anyone would spend a week at sea listening to bands that peaked before they were born, veterans of the cruise know the formula works. Few places on earth allow you to watch KK DOWNING shred a solo, run into MICHAEL MONROE at breakfast, discuss 1980s guitar tones in an elevator, and still be back in time for an afternoon nap.
