Alright, so nu-metal legends SNOT—you know, the band that reunited earlier this year and got everyone screaming “WAIT, WHAT?!”—are back at it again. Fresh off the hype train with new vocalist Andy Knapp (from STRONGER THAN MACHINES, because apparently regular machines just weren’t enough), they’ve been busy booking shows like they’re trying to win a “Most Reunion Tours in 12 Months” award. But hold up! Guitarist Mikey Doling just dropped a bombshell: rhythm guitarist Sonny Mayo is out. Cue the dramatic music.
“Sonny Mayo has decided to quit Snot. Snot doesn’t fit into his life right now, and he just wants to focus on himself and his life, and Snot‘s just too busy for him to be able to continue. So I’d like to wish Sonny Mayo the best of luck in his future. And I want to thank him for all he’s contributed to Snot over the years. We love you brother.”
Translation: Mayo’s got adulting to do, and SNOT’s tour schedule is basically a Netflix binge of chaos. But fear not! Stepping into the chaos void is GOD FORBID’s riff wizard Doc Coyle (who’s also a podcast maestro and all-around metal guru). Coyle called it “an honor” to join—probably because learning SNOT’s discography is the musical equivalent of cramming for finals with a Red Bull IV.
Now, about those shows: SNOT’s hitting everything from Denver to freakin’ Belgium. Pro tip: If you miss their set at Welcome to Rockville in Daytona Beach, you’ll have to live with the regret until their final gig at Aftershock in October. Tickets? Oh, they’re right here, but act fast before they’re scalped for the price of a used Honda.
