Rising slam band Torture have abruptly cancelled their upcoming shows, including a Houston, Texas date with Corpse Pile, and released an update on Instagram.
Here’s what they said:
just a quick update:
my touring members had to step away from the band, due to many different factors. i wish them all the absolute best, i love them so much, and sincerely hope their decision results in the bettering of their lives + well-being.
They also added this:
that being said, i’m currently looking for new members. this is not the end, i WILL continue no matter what. it’s extremely disappointing to have to cancel this month’s dates, but we will hopefully be back next month. i’m so sorry to anyone who wanted to see us these upcoming weeks, this came as a shock to me as well. i love you all so much. WE WILL BE BACK !!!!!!!
Coming from seemingly nowhere, Torture quickly gained attention on social media with their unique vocal style and chugging slam riffs. They are an outwardly anti-imperialist band, with the majority of their merchandise attempting to raise awareness of US war crimes in the Middle-East.
Initially conceived as an internet project, their drummer and sole initial member found a full backing band to accompany him on tour. Since then, they’ve played with bands like 200 Stab Wounds, Knocked Loose, and even at festivals like Sound and Fury.
It is unclear why the touring members stepped away at this time.
