Let’s be real: DRAIN might just be the sonic equivalent of getting hit by a skateboard (or at least the heaviest act) at this year’s Warped Tour in D.C. But hey, if you’d rather not elbow your way through a sea of neon-haired teens at a festival, DRAIN’s got your back. They’re sneaking in a cheeky little tour around their Warped gig – because why not double-dip in the chaos?
Their seven-date “we’re-not-tired-yet” sprint kicks off June 10 in Amityville, NY (home of horror movies and, apparently, sick riffs) and wraps June 19 in Baltimore. The Warped Tour stop? Oh, just casually sandwiched in the middle like a mosh pit at a yoga retreat. Three shows before, three after – because sleep is for the weak.
Fun fact: DRAIN’s frontman Sammy Ciaramitaro once crowd-surfed so hard he broke a venue’s ceiling fan. True story. Safety third!
Joining the chaos are openers ONE STEP CLOSER (emo-hardcore hybrids who probably own more hoodies than you), SCOWL (fronted by Kat Moss, who’s redefining “punk rock attitude” one snarling chorus at a time), MAGNITUDE (straight-edge warriors preaching positivity… loudly), and KOYO (Long Island’s answer to “what if we cried… but aggressively?”). Lineups vary, so check your date unless you enjoy surprise existential crises.
