DROWNING POOL Hopes To Release New Album Later This Year; ‘Sinner’ 25th-Anniversary Tour For 2026

So, C.J. Pierce from DROWNING POOL – you know, the band that made you yell “LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR” at every middle school dance – just chatted with Thomas S. Orwat, Jr. over at Rock Interview Series. They’re hyping their new singles “Madness” and “Revolution (The Final Amen)”, their first collab with singer Ryan McCombs in 13 years. Fun fact: DROWNING POOL’s “Bodies” is still the unofficial anthem of chaotic TikTok comps, even though it dropped when flip phones were cool.

“It’s been great to write with Ryan McCombs again,” Pierce said, sounding like a guy who just found his favorite old band tee in the laundry. “Two years ago, we were like, ‘Hey, let’s do a couple reunion shows for kicks!’ Then PANTERA’s comeback tour with Zakk Wylde happened, and suddenly everyone’s blowing up our phones. Classic rock ‘n’ roll domino effect.”

About that new album? “We’ve been too busy shredding stages to finish it,” C.J. admitted. “Dropped ‘Revolution’ and ‘Madness’ to keep y’all from rioting. Now I’m home, digging through riffs like a garage sale. Goal: album by summer. Unless, y’know, life happens. Again.”

When asked about their label situation: “We’re indie now, baby! SBG Records, run by Shan Horan. Major labels? Pfft. We’re DIY-ing this thing – self-managed, outsourcing the boring stuff. Universal was cool, but who needs ‘em when you’ve got passion and a spreadsheet?”

He added, “Look, I’d rather talk about pyro than P&Ls, but hey – gotta adult sometimes. We just wanna play shows, hang with fans, and drop new tunes without some suit breathing down our necks.”

Big news alert: DROWNING POOL’s planning a 25th-anniversary tour for their debut “Sinner” in 2026. That album went platinum in six weeks back in 2001, and “Bodies” basically lived on MTV. “We’re gonna hit the States first, play deep cuts, maybe even dust off ‘Heroes Sleeping’ – the last song we wrote with Dave Williams,” C.J. said. “Found some old demos in storage too. It’s like a time capsule, but with more distortion.”

Tour dates you can’t miss:

  • Inkcarceration Festival 2025 on July 18 (get your tattoo ideas ready).
  • Alcatraz Festival in Belgium this August (no actual prison breaks, probably).
  • U.K./Ireland tour with SPINESHANK and (HED) P.E. in November – because nothing says “autumn” like mosh pits.

Ryan McCombs, who’s been juggling DROWNING POOL and SOIL like a rock ‘n’ roll circus act, rejoined the band in 2023. Fun fact: He’s been living in Swindon, England since 2018, so jet lag is his unofficial bandmate.

Shoutout to late singer Dave Williams, whose untimely death in 2002 after an Ozzfest show left a void. But hey, his legacy’s still louder than a stadium amp.
