Former METALLICA bassist JASON NEWSTED will hit the road this summer with THE CHOPHOUSE BAND, marking the group’s first-ever North American headlining tour.
The 18-date run begins July 1 in Northampton, MA and travels across the East Coast, South, and Midwest before wrapping up with a two-night stand at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium on July 24 and 25.
In addition to eight headline appearances, JASON NEWSTED & THE CHOPHOUSE BAND will also join BLACKBERRY SMOKE for ten July dates.
Originally formed in 1992, THE CHOPHOUSE BAND has largely remained a passion project for Newsted, previously appearing at benefit concerts and charity events supporting causes such as veterans’ assistance, animal rehabilitation, and youth arts education. The upcoming trek marks the first major tour for the group.
Musically, the band blends Americana, bluegrass, folk, soul, rock, and heavier influences, giving Newsted room to explore a different side of his songwriting beyond the metal world he helped define.
For the 2026 lineup, Newsted is joined by Jesse Farnsworth, Jimbo Hart, Humberto Perez, and Robert John-Tucker.
Speaking about the tour, Newsted said the band will perform original material alongside songs by some of their musical heroes, promising acoustic moments as well as heavier passages throughout the set.
