After seven years of relative silence, THE BLACK QUEEN — the electronic project led by GREG PUCIATO (formerly of THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN) and STEVEN RYAN ALEXANDER — will return this spring for the “Fever Daydream” 10th Anniversary Tour.
The North American run celebrates a decade of Fever Daydream, the duo’s 2016 debut, a brooding and genre-blurring release that fused industrial tension, shadowy electronics, and subtle R&B influences.
“As anyone into THE BLACK QUEEN knows, we’ve been dormant for a minute,” Puciato said. “A lot of things ended up on the front burner and suddenly seven years had gone by — and 10 years since Fever Daydream’s release. That record was really special to us, and we know it meant a lot to fans too. So we figured it was time to get some grease on us and get some of that mojo back before releasing our third album. Maybe we’ll even toss some new songs in as well.”
The tour kicks off May 8 in Portland, Oregon, and runs through early June. Each night will feature Fever Daydream performed in full, along with selections from the band’s sophomore effort, Infinite Games. A special tenth-anniversary edition of Fever Daydream will also be available exclusively on tour.
Originally released in January 2016, Fever Daydream earned praise for its sleek, atmospheric sound, drawing comparisons to acts like DEPECHE MODE, APHEX TWIN, and MASSIVE ATTACK. The album spawned standout singles including “Ice To Never,” “Secret Scream,” and “Maybe We Should.”
