After months of rumors swirling louder than a stack of Marshalls, METALLICA have officially confirmed they’re heading to Las Vegas’ Sphere for a special eight-show residency dubbed Life Burns Faster.
The run will take place October 1 and 3, 15 and 17, 22 and 24, and 29 and 31, 2026. True to the band’s “No Repeat Weekend” tradition — first launched during the 2023 kickoff of their M72 World Tour — no songs will be repeated between each Thursday and Saturday pairing across the residency. In other words: eight nights, eight unique setlists, zero excuses.
Two-night “No Repeat Weekend” tickets and single-night tickets go on sale March 6 at 10 a.m. PT. Registration and presale information, along with enhanced experiences and travel packages, are available through Metallica’s official channels.
And yes — this isn’t just another arena show dropped into a fancy building. Sphere’s jaw-dropping technology, including its wraparound ultra-high-resolution LED display, immersive spatial audio system, and multi-sensory 4D capabilities, promises to turn staples and deep cuts from Metallica’s catalog into something far beyond the standard pyro-and-riffs spectacle. Expect the sound, the fury, and possibly your sense of spatial awareness to be pushed into new dimensions.
Drummer and co-founder Lars Ulrich explained the spark behind the idea, recalling attending U2’s opening at the venue in 2023: within seconds, he knew Metallica had to take on the challenge. The residency, he says, is another opportunity to reinvent how the band connects with fans — and to push their live experience to the next level.
Metallica in the most technologically advanced venue on the planet, playing different sets every night? Subtle was never really their thing anyway.
