PUBLIC IMAGE LTD Announce Massive 2026–2027 North American Tour

Post-punk pioneers Public Image Ltd have unveiled an extensive North American tour spanning late 2026 into early 2027. Dubbed “This Is Not…The Final PiL Tour,” the run marks a major return to the road for John Lydon and company.

The first leg kicks off September 3 in Pioneertown, California and will see the band hit major cities including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Minneapolis, New York, Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, and Boston, before wrapping up October 9 in Nashville. A second leg is already confirmed for February and March 2027.

The tour follows renewed momentum for the band after a series of European shows in 2025. In the wake of personal losses in 2023 — including the passing of his wife Nora and longtime manager John “Rambo” Stevens — Lydon had considered stepping away from touring. However, strong fan support ultimately brought him back.

Looking ahead, PiL are also preparing to release a new live album, Alive, recorded during last year’s shows, with further details expected soon. The band is additionally working on a brand new studio album slated for release in early 2027.

Speaking about the upcoming run, Lydon reflected on returning to the stage and reconnecting with fans, noting that their support played a key role in his decision to continue performing. He also confirmed that the band recently spent time in the studio working on new material.

Formed after the collapse of Sex Pistols, Public Image Ltd quickly established themselves as one of the most innovative acts of the post-punk era, blending rock, dub, dance, and experimental sounds. Over the years, the band has earned multiple U.K. Top 20 singles and albums while maintaining a constantly evolving lineup and sound.

Following the departure of longtime drummer Bruce Smith in late 2023, the current lineup features John Lydon (vocals), Lu Edmonds (guitar), Scott Firth (bass), and Mark Roberts (drums).
