Apparently releasing two albums in a single year wasn’t enough for CONVERGE.
The Massachusetts hardcore innovators have now announced “Saddest Day 2026”, a two-day, band-curated event set to take over Roadrunner in Boston on December 12-13.
The lineup already reads like a who’s who of modern heavy music, featuring BARONESS, CHAT PILE, EMMA RUTH RUNDLE, CAVE IN, AGRICULTURE and several more artists, with additional names still to be announced.
CONVERGE will headline both nights of the event, including a special performance celebrating the 25th anniversary of their landmark 2001 album “Jane Doe” on Sunday.
The festival arrives during an unusually productive year for the band, who have already released two new records in 2026: “Love Is Not Enough” and “Hum Of Hurt”.
For longtime fans, “Saddest Day” feels less like a traditional festival and more like a carefully assembled family reunion of artists who have shaped various corners of heavy music over the past two decades.
And if history is any indication, organizers probably have a few surprises left to unveil before December.
