Just days after his Seoul concert was shockingly canceled due to “recent controversies” (translation: Kanye being Kanye), the rapper-turned-walking PR disaster has found a new creative outlet: teaming up with Norwegian church burner and black metal philosopher Varg Vikernes for what they’re calling the most misunderstood collab in history—a bold new album titled Black Brothers.
The project, recorded entirely in a windowless basement outside of Reykjavik with one USB mic and two gallons of goat blood, is being billed as a “genre-destroying, cancel-proof manifesto” that fuses raw black metal tremolo riffs with Kanye’s stream-of-consciousness therapy sessions, which he insists are lyrics.
“We don’t believe in stages or countries anymore,” Kanye told a totally fake publication. “Just vibes, pagan rituals, and microphones blessed by Odin.”
Tracklist for Black Brothers includes:
“White Power, Black Hour”
(feat. ambient dungeon synth interlude by North West)“Yeezus is a Lich King”
(samples a cassette recording of a burning church)“Donda, But It’s in Runes”
“Hitler Was Misunderstood (Interlude ft. Elon Musk ASMR)”
“Skull Horns and Gucci Belts”
“We Are the Real Victims”
(Varg’s flute solo makes a surprise return)“Valhalla Is Just Wyoming in Winter”
“Burzum Beat Tape Vol. 1”
(instrumental except for Kanye yelling “This is ART” every 47 seconds)“Cancel Culture Holocaust”
(banned in 39 countries before release)“Skit: The Trial of the World”
(features a monologue by Kanye in character as Jesus, Odin, and Steve Jobs)“Yggdrasil 808”
“Outro (Free Speech = Free Screech)”
The album cover, rumored to depict Kanye and Varg sitting on the ruins of the Incheon Munhak Stadium holding a burning Bible and a MAGA hat respectively, has already been flagged by seven global watchdog groups.
When asked if they were worried about repercussions, Varg simply tweeted:
“This is the only collab I’ve done that made me uncomfortable.”
The album drops June 6th (of course), and is only available on wax cylinder, encrypted Telegram bots, and carved runestones buried in a secret forest in Norway.
Metalheads, run. Everyone else… you were warned.
